Lawn Community Centre, Swindon

The group have been booked to perform at the Lawn Community Centre, Swindon on Saturday 23rd September 2017.

This is the fifth annual performance at this venue. Previous performances were organised to raise funds for the Threshold Housing Link – a charity that helps homeless people in Swindon. This year’s concert will be raising funds for the community centre itself.

The performance will commence at 7:30pm and should conclude around 9:30pm. A 30 minute refreshment interval will be scheduled at the halfway stage.

Enquiry from Fitzwarren Court, Swindon

An email enquiry has been received from the Activities Co-Ordinator at Fitzwarren Court, Swindon asking if we could perform at their Summer Party on Saturday 12th August 2017.

They had received a recommendation for the group from The Fairways, Chippenham.

Unfortunately, the request had to be declined owing to the planned holidays of Dave Sperritt (percussionist) and Jack Webb (2nd tenor).

Tetbury Goods Shed

An enquiry has been received from a lady who attended our performance in December 2016 for the Shipton Moyne WI. She volunteers at the Tetbury Goods Shed – a new venue for the performing arts.

The venue was opened in April 2017 and has seating for 185.

The Tetbury Goods Shed is a registered charity, and she wanted to understand if an arrangement could be made with the group for a performance to raise funds for that charity – or perhaps to share the money raised by the performance with the group’s charity.

Listen to the group

Here is the group’s rendition of the gospel song ‘Where Could I Go But To The Lord’ which is a traditional song arranged for the group as four-part harmony vocals by the Welsh conductor Alwyn Humphreys.

The song was recorded by Elvis Presley in 1967 and included on his album ‘How Great Thou Art’.

Chipping Sodbury Concert – It’s A Sell-Out!

The concert at the Chipping Sodbury Town Hall on Wednesday 17th May 2017 is a sell-out.

This concert has been organised by the local Rotary Club for residents of the care homes in Chipping Sodbury. The booking was arranged via Fred Guscott at The Cause, Chippenham.

The group has previously performed in Chipping Sodbury at Barnhill Court in November 2016, and there may be an opportunity to meet up with some of the residents who attend this public performance.

The evening will start at 7:30pm and is planned as two 45 minute sessions by End Of The Track – with a 25 minute interval for refreshments.

Brookside Care Home, Melksham

This afternoon we paid our first visit as End Of The Track to the Brookside Care Home in Melksham. We performed in the large lounge to an audience of around 30 residents and staff – with more listening in the adjacent rooms.

The home is familiar to many of the group members – who remember singing there as members of the Chippenham Male Voice Choir, although many years have passed since that time.

The audience was very appreciative of the music, and reacted in typical fashion by joining in with the singing of the more well-known songs.

We were again without Dave Hackett due to ill health, but all other singers were present and we enjoyed a cup of tea after the performance. Here is the programme for today’s gig:-

1) All My Loving

2) Wake Up Little Suzie

3) Mr Tambourine Man

4) California Dreaming

5) All I Have To Do Is Dream

6) There’s A Kind Of Hush

7) Pretty Woman

8) With A Little Help

9) Daydream Believer

10) Bye Bye Love

11) House Of The Rising Sun

12) Hello Mary Lou

13) Bad Moon Rising

14) I’m Into Something Good

15) Sweet Caroline

16) Eight Days A Week

18) American Trilogy
