This afternoon we attended the St Nicholas’s School in Chippenham to entertain the special needs children and young adults who are currently participating in their two-week holiday activities. Those activities are organised by the local charity ‘North Wilts Holiday Club’ which is the charity supported by End Of The Track.
We handed over a giant cheque for £2,750. The children had used the reverse side of the cheque to draw images of our singers. Our audience was in a party mood with the event being advertised as a fancy dress party; we had Batman sitting in the front row!
As always, the audience was full of enthusiasm and energy, and they were quickly on their feet and dancing to our opening song ‘Is This The Way To Amarillo’. We continued to entertain with songs that they could join in with – clapping or singing – with encouragement from their carers.
We performed for 30 minutes and were then asked to sing two more songs as an encore. Our programme was as follows:-
- Hi Ho Silver Lining
- Pretty Woman
- Here Comes My Baby
- I Can See Clearly Now
- Bad Moon Rising
- Do You Love Me
- All My Loving
- Hey Jude
